BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, nonsurgical, treatment administered by Dr. Silich at SHIZUKA new york Day Spa that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in men and women from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Treatment with Botox is safe and easy. In addition to glabellar lines, Botox is commonly used to smooth forehead wrinkles, crows feet, and other facial wrinkles by targeting and selectively relaxing the facial muscles that can cause fine lines and wrinkles. On average, Botox injection can take 10-15 minutes, and is easily completed during a lunch break in our New York City day spa adjacent to Rockefeller Center.

Botox and hyaluronic acid dermal fillers (see below) are effective and non-invasive alternatives to plastic surgery. Results may require 7-10 days to take full effect, and may last for four to six months depending on the individual. Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. By injecting hyaluronic acid beneath the surface of the skin, Dr. Silich is able to fill in facial folds and wrinkles such as the nasolabial folds (smile lines or "parentheses"). Hyaluronic acid binds to the water in the skin, creating a fullness that can last up to 6-12 months, depending on the individual. Dr. Silich injects the hyaluronic acid fillers Restylane and Juvederm in our New York day spa.

Restylane®

Restylane® is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds.  Restylane maintains its shape using the body's own moisture. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is hydrophilic or "water loving." As hyaluronic acid gradually degrades, each molecule binds to more water and over time, the same volume can be maintained with less hyaluronic acid. This ability of hyaluronic acid to bind to water is what helps provide lasting results.

Juvéderm™

Juvéderm™ is a smooth consistency injectable gel made of hyaluronic acid. It is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is proven to be safe and effective for persons of color.
